good observation. i have no idea how they get the dot pitch rating. i mean it changes every time u change the resolution, right?

You sure the video cards driving those monitors aren't the culprit? I don't doubt the monitor or cable could be less than great at 16x12, but I'm thinking it's more likely the (integrated) video card of a business PC is the weak link.
