are you a moron? he is a soldier in the army that protects our country. regardless of if we are in imminent danger, he is helping to protect everyone and i appreciate that.

When my son told me he had joined the Army, I did not 'flip-out' or get hysterical. It did hit me hard though and it took a few days for it to fully sink in. As a mother, I needed to talk to him about it a three or four times and then I was able to wrap my brain around it and provide my full support to him. Communication is the most important thing. Let her know that you will contact her as early and as often as you can.
