Looking for a street stock engine that generates more Torque than Dodge's 8L V10.

I'm trying to find an engine that has more torque than an 8L V10 Dodge engine.
Any engine will do so long as it's street stock.

There must be one out there somewhere...Dodge can't have the highest torque output of any engine there is :Q! But that's the statement I'm trying to disprove.

what are the specs for the engine in the Maclaren F1? what about the Ferarri F50? i have no idea, just throwing some ideas around 🙂

check out the S7 too

I don't really know 😛 that's what I'm looking for.
I don't really know that much about cars, I just refuse to believe Dodge makes the world's Torquiest (is that a word?) engine.

probably plenty of semi's that'll do it for you 🙂

wait, is this the viper v10, or the cummins v10 turbo-diesel? i think it's a v10.

Ford 7.3L V8 has 520lb-ft
Chevy 6.6L 300 hp V8 520lb-ft

Also, Dodges V10 has less torque than their inline 6, granted their inline 6 comes with turbo charger.

In either the late 60s or early 70s buick had a 455 that put out over 500lb-ft and caddy had a big ass 500 that I am sure put out some pretty serious torque. How much does the dodge put out anyway?

thats an EASY one

New 8.1 liter found in the GM HD truck

If you need any more comparisons for Trucks that put large smackdowns on Dodge and Ford..

www.GMC.com is very helpful 😉

8.1 Liter
SAE Net Horsepower @ RPM (auto trans.): 340 @ 4200
SAE Net Torque @ RPM (lb-ft): 455 @ 3200

If Diesel counts both Ford and GM as listed above
GM has the edge tho with 70 more HP ontop of the even 520 TQ

The Bentley Continental puts out the most amount of torque in a production car, around 600+ lb/ft I think. That must be crazy..the body must be pretty strong to not flex during WOT. The tires must light up pretty easy!

The new 2003 Viper puts out a little more then 500lb-ft torque easily (everyone know that). Granted its not in full production yet (hey but your comparing it to trucks for gods sake. 😉)

Plus some of the cars mentioned are well above the Vipers price range.

I think he means US Street Stock.
Which means the Punks at DOT get ahold of it and rock your world 🙁
<--- Hates DOT

If we only had it as easy as Europe and Japan... 🙁

The GM 8.1 beats the Dodge trucks by 5 foot pounds.

Dodge Trucks

However, the Viper flavor puts the GM motor right back down with
490 foot pounds 😉

Beat me to the big bad Bently!!!! That thing was featured in Motor Trends' Torque Monstors article!!!!!!!

<< And Semi's are DQ'd...good try though, we're looking at sports car engines. >>

well, you didn't specify 🙂

and the lightning is somewhere in the 3-400 ft-lb range i believe.

Well, I drive a Peterbilt truck thats got this in it

N14

Its got around 1500 ftlb of torque and about 400 hp. It can pull an 80,000 lb load from a dead stop with the engine at idle. Most trucks probably have an engine similar to this. They really need that torque.

PS. Oops I didn't see semi's are DQed...oh well.

Flush-positioned exterior door handles deploy when heat sensors detect a hand approaching within a few centimeters.

So WTF does it do on a 100º day?

Viper GTS
