Female singer with the prettiest voice I've ever heard. All I can remember is something like "and it wears my heart, it wears my heart" or something like that and she goes "uh uh uh uh uh uh oh oh oh oh" or something like that.

:/

Whatever it is, it was on Acoustic Cafe.

were you listening earlier today?

in my area, Prairie Home Companion would have recently ended. Sounds, to me, like the type of song that might of aired on that show. I often hear some stuff in the background on that show, some musicians, that often make me want to post threads like this.

seriously...start there maybe?

mostly bluegrass, blues, gospel, old-timey country/prairie, folk-type musicians if that helps. Lot of good female singers doing guest spots.

I've googled it already with no luck. I'm not even sure if those are the exact words. I know I've heard it on some npr show, and then possibly on World Cafe I dunno.

Was a couple of days ago but I've heard it a few times on there and for sure not on Prairie Home Companion. There is almost no music to it, just her singing but her voice is so nice.

Regina Spector... the only reason I know that is because she just moved into the apartment above my sister's.
