I am trying to figure out what the dirt bottom I could spend on rolling out some machines as web servers to be in-house and only used as a web server. I would prefer them to be as small as possible, but again, I'm more concerned about price.

They would probably run Ubuntu and Apache, but I'm open to suggestions.

I'm not looking for a one time build, but rather something I could streamline.

But I'm looking for something long term. Something that I can make multiples of and image the drives so i can get them out quicker.

BTW, the server would only be used by 5-50 people.

Hadn't thought of that, but I would be selling/leasing these units to businesses and wouldn't have access to any of their inside resources.

Ebay + VM? You basically have a stock VM you install on any machine you get. Cuts down on installation time and configuration of the web server part of it. Definitely the easiest to streamline, unless you are strictly concerned about the hardware side.

Look on ebay for Dell G270 Optiplex small form.

There are many for less than $100.

I see, yea, that is the way to go. Thanks for the suggestion!
