Do any of you have a reccomendation for a fun Adventure Game? I'm looking for something that has a compelling story with nice graphics and sound and interesting puzzles. I don't want anything like unreal 2k4 as i have that and i enjoy that but in its own way. Right now i am replaying The Longest Journey which is pretty interesting but the graphics are really dated, i'd like something that will exercise my new computer.

So any cool new games out there like this?

Danke!

Yes, it's called trying to get a girl to go out with you.

j/k! Please don't use your mighty lifer powers to punish me.

Wow, he's going to eat you for breakfast. :D

star control 2 baby, you can even download the 3do version for pc now for free. the voice acting is great. if you have only played the old PC version of the game it is definately worth playing again for the better quality music and voice acting. esp the shofixti:

Kyaiee!"

Recent ones are few and far between.

The last one that I've heard of that got any good reviews was Syberia.

Recently I have found far more pleasure in downloading ScummVM and running all the classic LucasArts adventure games all over again. I just need to find Sam and Max and that other one with the dead people. Beat Loom in 2 hours the other day. :p

As much as I dislike Myst games....the latest one..Uru is actually quite good. It's all 3D, excellent graphics and sound, and there are lots of puzzles. You can play it in first person or third person.

:)

Edit:

Another game you might like is Sacred, although it doesn't have much in the way of puzzles. It's sort of like Diablo II, but better graohics, larger world, and better combat.

looks like a lot of fighting? i want more puzzle-ish game
Oh alright, hmm... Broken Sword 3 is a good game, but the PC interface is aweful...

Broken Sword 3 was a great game. I believe if you have a gamepad, the interface works better (didn't try out my gravis gamepad pro b/c it didn't seem necessary). I guess it proves it's more of a port from the consoles than anything else. But great storyline for sure. I was thinking about picking up #1 or 2. Actually they ported #1 to GBA, so I might be able to get that and play it on the go ;).

Isn't there a Passion of the Christ adventure yet, where you have to find all the tools to torture him as well as nails and stuff to put him up for the night?

I have played Syberia. It was a pleasant surprise. It was a decent game and stood out among the crowd since good adventure games are tough to come by nowadays.

Syberia 2 is coming out, hopefully it will be as good.

I heard decent things about the last Indiana Jones game, but I don't know if you consider that too action-y.

Beyond Good and Evil does have some fighting, but it's not the core of the game. It's a combination of stealth, puzzles, exploration, and some minigames (including an air hockey variant and racing).
