I process my payroll off of a server located in D.C. and as of lately, it's been extremely flaky. We've been experiencing more downtime than uptime and it's making my job very difficult.

Is there a program out there that can dispatch me an email when it can't resolve a DNS or when the site won't load? And likewise, when the DNS finally does resolve or the site is back to operating?

I have not heard of a program that does this, but I could write it for you if you want, in C# or Java or something. Can't really do it for free though...

Alternatively if you write it yourself I could give you a few pointers.
