Looking for a PDA

I'm a college student with limited funds (read: i spent all my money on my desktop) and i'm looking for a PDA to keep myself organized. (and to entertain myself in classes where my laptop is too obvious) i would like 802.11 capability, and the ability to use IM, web browsers, etc... I'm not the biggest Dell fan, so I've been looking at the HP iPaq's and the Sony Clie. The Sony's are of particular interest because (I assume) they use the Sony memory stick, and I already have some of those for my digital camara. Does anyone have some experience in this field? (I know my computer hardware, but have no experience with PDA's) Are there any model recommendations, or brands/models to stay away from? I'd appreciate any feedback or advice. Thanks in advance.

Cliffs:
-I'm Cheap
-Want PDA with 802.11, IM, Web browsing, etc...
-Don't know much about PDA's
-I have Sony memory sticks, so Sony has some preference.
-Want advice, personal experience, etc...
-Thanks

As do I, although I'd avoid the Sony memory sticks. 😛

Edit - I was looking at some of the iPaq models myself.

I thought Sony got out of the Palm world...am I right or wrong? If I am right, don't even think about a dead product...

I have no current experience, but my HP Jornada 548 treated me quite well until I made the mistake of putting it in a suitcase. Luggage gorillas > protective cover + packaging.

Do a search in the forum for "PDA" or "handheld" or "iPAQ". There were enough discussions earlier in the year on them.

I use an Asus MyPal A-716. Has everything built-in. Support CF-CFII and SD cards, is pretty fast Intel xscale at 400mhz, wi-fi, bluetooth, fast IR. Battery lasts really long and looks sweet. My only problem is getting it to work with WPA at home. I read somewhere were someone found a way but its not a big concern for me now. Dont know how much it goes for now but I paid under 400 and it came with 2 batteries from newegg.

The Dell x30's and x50's are good. I got an x50v and really like. They win quite a few awards and people are overall very happy with them. Check out www.aximsite.com for more info. There a x50v deal in the Hote Deals forum you might want to take a look at
