I can't think of any off the top of my head unfortunately.
I've read that Dell has been receiving pressure to offer machines with Linux as an alternative OS, but who's to say they'd use Ubuntu, or that they'll even do this at all.
there was a website that i came across a while back (can not remember the name) that would sell laptops preloaded with ubuntu. It wasn't name-brand, but the components used weren't old. It still would have had good performance
I would load the OS yourself. Google for linux on laptops and find the best working one. Also check various Unbuntu forums and see what they are using and if there are problems.
I saw those system76 laptops a while ago. They look nice, but couldn't you just buy a Thinkpad and put Linux on it? Besides the lack of Linux support by Lenovo, I think that would be a better option. They're about the same price if you compare a fully loaded Gazelle ($2,006) to an almost fully loaded T60p ($2,164). If you're installing Linux, chances are you can do a lot of the troubleshooting yourself.
