Last night I watched the pilot for Game of Thrones, and liked it, so I'll check out the next episode.

Midget? Check
Naked chicks? Check
Violence? Check

I have no idea why I couldn't get into it, but I hear loads of people talk about how much they love it.

Thank God no one has said Tru Blood yet.

Yeah I forgot about that one... Hmm. Possibly, it would be the first of the genre that I would like though, so it's a bit of a risk.

I haven't been into medieval fantasy in the past and I didn't read the Game of Thrones books so I didn't know anything about it until I saw someone talking about the first couple episodes on ATOT last year. Watched the first season and liked it so much I've been looking forward to the second season.

I'm actually a fan of all of USA's series.

Psych
Suits
Fairly Legal
Royal Pains
Covert Affairs

They are all worth watching. Psych especially.

I know you said no shows that have ended, but Lie to Me was a decent show and ended last year. It was cancelled after only 3 seasons which really disappointed my wife.

Suits looks like my sort of thing, I'm going to watch the first Episode of that.

Psych is a possibility too.

Any Comedies anyone?

I'm absolutely not a fan of the genre but Game of Thrones is so effing well done, I don't see how anyone could fail to become engrossed.

There was also a sitcom last year (and probably coming back), that was about two English writers hired to come to Hollywood and write for a dreadful sitcom starring a faded "star" (Joey from Friends), that you might like. It sends up all the bloated H'wood egos -- producers, directors, agents, TV actors. It wasn't that bad. I forget its name. Ahh, ok, Episodes.

Finally, I dunno, you might also like the quirky comedy of Bored To Death.

There are a few new shows coming out that have some promise. I really like "Awake" so far, pretty cool premise and I've never seen it done before. (always a plus) There are some others but I can't think of them right now.

EDIT: Awake

Not a comedy, but I wanted to say I really like "Awake" as well. Like 911para says, fresh premise and pretty damn well done!
