Looking for a new stereo receiver

My wife and I just got a DVD player that has 5.1 output, it has the plugs in back and we were looking to replace my old POS home theater. I was looking to spend between 200-300 for the reciever and hang on to my speakers.
Does anyone have any recommendations for receivers or a good audio forum?

Thanks.

Yes, the Onkyo 502 & 602 are both good choices.

Other places to compare prices on them are Crutchfield.com (cheap shipping), OneCall.com, and JR.com (J&R has great Friday sale deals sometimes, also carries _factory_ refurbs checked & warranted by Onkyo).

Onkyo 502 is on sale right now for $208 at onecall.com. Great price for a good receiver.

I would recommend you ditch the speakers though. You said you had a POS home theater system. If the receiver was junk, the speakers are probably just as bad. Look into the Athena satellites at Bestbuy. They've been on sale recently.

Although I would get the NAD T743, but it's closer to $600-700 :p
