Looking for a new mouse...

I would like an optical wireless mouse, and I'm not sure which one to buy. I like the mx700, but if there is another cheaper option I wouldn't mind, the mx700 is a bit pricey. I heard that the microsoft intellimouse explorer is a little sluggish and that its batteries deplete quickly. So do you have any ideas except for the mx700?

You don`t say if gaming is important, however if it `s then you really should go with the Logitech MX700 ,remember it comes with a rechargable bay unit as well,if gaming is not important then the Logitech Cordless MouseMan Optical link is ok for just surfing and normal use.

I would strongly advise you get the MX700 if you do game or if gaming is important to you,it really is the best cordless gaming mouse out at the moment.

I will do some gaming actually... seems like the mx700 is the mouse to get.. I'll just have to cough up the money I s'pose 🙂

I'm probably a very small part of the population who have used the MX700, but I found it to be too heavy, especially for games. In the store the batteries are not installed in the unit and therefore it feels somewhat light. With 2 NiMH batteries in it, it felt like a brick in my hand. No lag or jitters from the mouse though - smooth as my corded dual optical.

the movement is as smooth as your corded you say? i posted that problem a week ago cause my microsoft corded is oh so smooth but my wireless logitechs are extremely jittery that its annoying to watch it go around. do you recall any other mice being jittery?

The MX700 polls 125 times a second, the same maximum polling rate for the USB port. So it is as good as a corded mouse. There is no two ways about it.
Ive had one for a couple of months now, and prefer it by far over my old MS IntelliMouse Optical V1.0.
You wont get that annoying cable problem either, where if the cable has a slight twist in it, then it sometimes wont let you move the mouse in a specific direction until you straiten the cord, its hard to explain, but you might know what im on about.

so the mx700 rates in at 125, but do you know if most other high-end logitechs do as well? i've gone back to corded for two weeks and don't mind the cord so much, just hate the jitters. but thanks for your reply

If you really need a wireless, then I would say the MX700 is well worth the money compared to other wireless mice. You won't regret it.

I've used a few cordless mice, and the Logitech MX700 is by far the most responsive one I've used. There is virtually no lag from this mouse!
