I need some help identifying a new desk. I've been looking around for a few weeks, but I have not found the dream dream.
Requirements (and nice-to-haves):
[*]Minimum of 4 feet wide
[*]Glass top
I actually want to look down through the glass to my two side-by-side 18" LCDs so I don't block the window directly in front of me. I would consider replacing any existing top with glass to achieve the desired effect.
[*]Keyboard tray under glass surface, minimum of 36" wide
One day I hope to operate my mouse beside my ergonimic keyboard, not above it.
[*]If desk has any wood, it must be natural/maple (i.e., "bright" or lighter-colored wood)
[*]OPTIONAL: Completely mobile via casters
At this point, I don't care about any storage built into the desk (drawers, doors, etc.). If anything, I'd only have a USB hub and speakers nearby (main chassis wil be off the the side, on wheels). Of course, the wife would love anything that helps hide wires. Additionally, I do not *currently* care for anything that rises above the main surface of the desk because I am right in front of a window).
Some examples that come close ...
Could be a little wider ... and I'd put the displays under the glass with some additional shelving
Maybe with transparent glass and a wider keyboard tray (also available at 60 inches but may lose keyboard tray option)
Remove CPU holder and widen keyboard tray
Would've stopped at the main glass top
Any good ideas?
Oh yeah, corner and L-shaped arrangements are out of consideration.
