My contract with Bell expires at the end of this month and I'm in the market for a new phone, plan and possibly provider.

For the phone, I'm looking to stay away from flip phones (I've had 2 already and want something different). It definitely needs an mp3 player and a camera.

I was hoping one of you knowledgeable people on AT could recommend a new phone for me.

Rogers
Telus
Fido

Since I'll be starting my Master's in Sept., I am looking to sign a 2 year contract. Does anyone know of any good plans I can get with these providers?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you considered buying an unlocked phone outright and not getting hitched with the telco for 2 years? Looks like Fido has the better selection of phones among three. If you want to go with a candy bar and your phone to have some brains then try Blackberry Pearl.

Do you travel north a lot? Bell's service is ridiculously amazing up north, but Rogers/ Telus/ Fido have better city service.

also, phone budget?
If you like good mp3 player, you can look at the walkman series from SE. W580 just come out and i believe you can get it from rogers for like 25 to 150 depends on the discount. It is a slider with walkman 2.0 and 2.0 mp camera, although it has problem with the keyboard. Or you can try the w810 for candy bar form. Otherwise, rogers nokia selection is really limited and i dislike motorola (personal reference).
Telus is CDMA so i have no clue.
I like the nokia 6300 from fido but i dont think it has a good mp3 player (not sure on this).
Hope this helps.
