Hello,
I'm looking for some suggestions for a new mp3 player for those boring jogs and workouts.

There's just so many players since I bought my last one (64mb nomad mg :D) and it's quite confusing. All it needs to do is play mp3s, have a reasonable (>512mb) storage capacity, and a replaceable rechargeable battery.

I'm looking spend under $150

thanks!

I believe you are known as a lurker. ;)

I like my little MSI Megaplayer 521. Its small and round and comes with two armbands. I got it cheap from a UK website.

They have 256MB, 512MB and 1GB varieties.

haha yeah, I lurk mostly because there's nothing to add to what's been said in most of the threads.

right now I'm really leaning towards the creative zen nano plus since it's just so much cheaper but not sure about those AAA batteries that needs to be replaced all the time.

I recently upgraded from a 128MB iRiver to the Creative Zen Nano Plus 1GB and love it. I get around 15 hours on a single AAA battery and it sounds great. Also, one thing I like is it works as a standard USB drive, so no software is needed to transfer between the player and computer.

Also, I believe the Nano Plus is being discontinued, so many of the stores have had them on sale for a while now. I picked up 2 (one for my Dad, one for me) at my local Staples about 2 weeks for $70 each.

Just got the creative zen nano. :)
1gb is plenty for me upgrading from just 64mb.

I couldn't justify the $100 price difference for the creative and the ipod. (you know..being a poor student and all)

Looking at the zen, it's tiny shorter than the shuffle but a little thicker and wider. Best of all it has a little lcd for display purposes. Volume is quite loud for my sensitive ears, even minimum volume seems loud to me.

All said and done, I'm happy with my purchase.

Did you look at the Sandisk Sansa e250? It's got 2Gb and a microSD card slot and can be found for under $150

Edit: The battery can be replaced also
