looking for a mouse

I going to buy a new mouse, what do you guys recommend? I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I want it to be big because I have relatively large hands. It doesn't have to be wireless, and most of you will recommend logitech, it doesn't have to be that either. I won't be buying online, but you could use anything as a reference.

I found the logitech G7, looks nice but expensive. (I might get it if I don't find anything suitable.)

Intellimouse 1.0

I can rag most people in most games with just this mouse, they can shove their logitechs 😛 Its not particularly big though, about medium size. Its the best mouse ive ever used because its fantastic for gaming as well as general tasks, web surfing etc. Theres no compromise for either.

Go down to your nearest BestBuy or similar store, and try them all out for look and feel. Then put that direct knowledge to work by considering it along with what other users have selected and order it online from the best supplier available.

"Best" includes, price, reliability, and shipping.

Try to avoid being a lemming. 🙂

Have you actually used a G series mouse? I find the shape to be really uncomfortable compared to the MX610 and newer Logitechs

Personally I find a G-series to be extremely comfortable (if I was a palmer, that is). I'm not that big of a fan of Logitech's other designs (I liked the MX510, which I think is the same basic design as the 518 and G5). I also really don't like Razer mice. TBH, what mouse you buy all depends on what you like the most in a mouse. When I used to game a lot, I only used my generic HP optical mouse, because it was small enough for me to fingertip-control.

Intellimouse 1.0 is looking a little better now huh? Jus sayin.... 😛

Well you said you wanted a big mouse, i think you might wanna check out the microsoft HABU its a gamers mouse (basically a razer copperhead at heart) and i thought it was pretty big when i used one. I couldn't get used to it though so i bought an intellimouse. HABU might be up your ally.

HABU features:

teflon pads
on the fly sensitivity adjustment
5 buttons
pretty decent software imo
inter changeable side button configurations (basically the side of the mouse pops off and can be changed)

I dont know why you didnt like the logitech mx518 or G5, ive never heard anything bad about them, except some durability issues, but anyways its worth mentioning that logitech are bringing out the logitech G9 soon. Ugly pos but it may suit you i dunno. Heres the specs for the G9 3200 DPI! Thats pretty impressive.

I have both the G5 and Mx5000 laser.

If i had my time back i would of gotten the G7 because the cord on the G5 is rather stiff and in my setup it can hinder my mouse movement if i'm not careful.

The Mx5000 laser mouse is what i use most of the time because it's one of the most comfortable mice i've ever used, and due to work, my hand will get sore very fast with normal non-ergonomic mice whereas i can use the Mx5000 for several hours without getting a sore hand. I however had a weird problem with the mouse stop transmitting/receiving randomly, which randomly fixed itself and has worked fine for the past few months. Today however, i would get the http://www.microsoft.com/hardw...ctdetails.aspx?pid=086]Natural 6000[/url] as i've tried it and it's superior (i also have largish hand size).

The deciding facts I believe are
1- If you use the mouse for extended periods of time you will want it to be very comfortable/ergonomic. With the less time you use it, the less comfort you can get away with.
2- Wireless is fine, as long as it has a recharger, batteries are a pain I'm not willing to deal with.
3- Buttons, I like my buttons.
4- Reliability. If it stops working when you have a head shot on someone who just tea-bagged you.... you're going to need a replacement mouse and some plaster.
5- Do you really need a fancy mouse? If you just use the computer from time to time for p0rn and the odd game, then get something like Soviet posted.
