Looking for a Mobo (for a i5 cpu) with USB ports on front

Hi,

I want to build a new system with a i5 CPU. The Gigabyte's GA-P55-UD3R seems a very good motherborad for it, but when i read the specifications, it appears to me that all the external USB ports are on the back panel. Am i right ? What would be a good motherboard, with 10 external USB ports, but some of those in the front (i find this more practical when i use mp3 reader, camera, etc...) ?

I do not want a very expensive motherboard, cause i wont do SLI, or Overclocking. Just a really dependable MB with some front panel usb ports.

Unless I'm misreading something, the front panel USB ports are part of the case. The motherboard doesn't reach that far to the front. That board should have a connection for front panel USB ports (my GA-P55-UD2 does, and it's pretty standard now).

Front USB is a function of your case. There are two headers on the UD3R to connect four front USB ports if your case has them.

Thank you for the information.

I am not very "tech savvy", so I did not know that. So, if I understand well, i could use an Antec 300 with this MB and have 2 front usb ports...

Thanks again and happy holidays

Yes the Antec 300 has two front ports. Just place the connector on the motherboard header. Good luck with your project!
