Looking for a low resource browser

I'm looking for the simplest and least resource intensive browser out there. Sometimes I have alot of things running at once and need to access a simple website to check news, etc. Firefox isnt too bad but if I can sacrifice all the extra features for something that uses less memory and has basic browser functionality then I'd be happy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Try Opera. It is reputed to have a low impact on systems. I didn't like the look of Fire Fox, so I stuck with plain Mozilla (now is Sea Monkey), but I think it is more resource-sapping than Opera.

Opera can get quite high in memory usage unless you adjust the memory cache. That said, my current Opera and Firefox usage:

Opera 9: 113MB ( 51 open tabs )
Firefox 2: 68MB ( 1 open tab )
