Z70VA is less than 6 lbs. Is about 5.4-5.7. The i9300 is just too big. The 6800 GO Ultra will perform better but is not worth the weight. You can't compare the Z70VA to the i9300, they are in different class. Nothing can touch a z70VA, in the 15inch widescreen department right now because it runs on Turion (Low power and longer battery life) and a x700, that performs on par and even better than the 6600 Go on some games and most importantly it weighs less than 6 pounds.

Couple of things. The I9300 has a vanilla 6800 in it, not an ultra. Also the z70va has a 533FSB P-M in it, not a turion. Also it is right at 6lbs on the dot with an 8 cell battery and the optical drive inserted. Without the optical drive it is 5.6 lbs.

Yes slight mistake. I was looking at something else. Is not a turion, but I think it'll be better for the OP because he needs to carry it to school. The i9300 is just too heavy and bulky.

Exactly the point I was trying to make. It is important to note that the 9300 has a regular 6800 and not the ultra though. There is a rather large difference between those two cards.
