Looking for a laptop on a budget? My recommendation.

Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with Toshiba or any 3rd party distributors
I just think that this is a really, REALLY good deal that's just going on.

While I readily admit that this would be more appropriate on the hot deals forums, enough people are looking for budget laptops and asking here I feel justified in posting this here instead of posting this over and over again in individual threads:

15.6" Toshiba laptop w/ Sandy Bridge Core i3-2310 for $399.00

It expires on 7/24, but it is a blazing deal. The 15.6" size is somewhat bigger for a daily carry but conversely it means a comfortable typing space and less eye strain.

And even though it's a i3 core, it would handle most everything you throw at it as a normal user (internet, movies, word processing, excel, etc.) without a problem.

FTFY.

TBH $400 for a no-frills i3-based laptop is good but not particularly great. Newegg has a Lenovo that comes with 4GB RAM (vs. 3GB in that Toshiba). Build quality's about equal between these two particular models.
