I just picked up another Wii. I sold my launch day one a year or two ago for a 360 and picked up a new one today. I am looking for a good forum that has discussion for hacking and or modding of the console. I have searched around but haven't found any real good ones.

If you're just wanting basic info then maybe start in the forums here: http://gbatemp.net/. If you need something more then the people there might be able to direct you.

Well I was mostly looking for information on what chip I should get, what type of mods where out there and what type of homebrew.

If you just picked up a new Wii you're likely out of luck as far as installing a chip into it.

afaik the D2E is the newest chip and I just put a Wasabi 3 and V5 clip on one. Only needed to solder 1 wire. Works like a champ. Only problem with newer chips is it costs roughly $50 for the chip and $30 for the clip. You don't have to have the clip but unless your a pro with the iron it's dumb not to get it.

Now older Wii's with D2A/D2B you can just put a $20 Wiikey in a go on. The newer chips are high but hey I got a 2 and 3 year old that like to destroy discs and always finds away to get my originals if I forget to put one up. Now I can keep them put away :D and not have to worry when I leave the house.

Yeah I have been looking at the wasabi looks like it is the best option for the D2E. I am just hoping mine is not epoxied.
