So after spending an hour or two looking at the hose reels on Amazon, Home Depot , Lowes, and Menards this seemingly simple decision has become very complicated.

I was looking at this one from Amazon but some of the reviews say the coupling fails after 8-9 months and that you need to buy a brass one for $30. I like the look, color is ok, and the price is reasonable.
After a little more research I discovered Rapid Reel. The reviews for this one are over the top good which makes me suspicouse but it does look like a quality hose reel, the look is ok, but.....IT'S A $142 DOLLARS! Holy crap.

Does anyone have some suggestions for a quality hose reel that isn't so expensive?

Unfortunately that doesn't hold enough hose. I've used a similar style of hose hanger in the past but I'm looking for a reel type like in my links.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

The Rapid Reel may cost less in total due to not having to repair or replace it as often, and be more enjoyable to use. On the other hand if you don't plan on living there more than a decade then just get a cheap plastic Suncast reel and replace it as needed... and the Suncast has a shelf you can put your beer on!

I'm linking to one on amazon only as an example. There are other brand relabels of this that can be found for $25-$30 on sale. They last about 5 years in my use though I bring them in for the winter once it gets freezing at night.

If I were to upgrade it then I'd go with this model of Liberty reel which is priced pretty good right now at $70/HD/MH or $82/ebay

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Rapid Reel. Ya it's expensive but I wrestle with hoses all day at work so when I get home I don't want to bring that frustration with me.

If we end up moving in a few years I guess I'll just remove it before the agent comes over to take pictures for the listing.🙂
