Looking for a good LAN program, i'll explain...

My brother and I constantly share files and digital pictures over our LAN...

is there a program that could allow me to just pipe over a picture and have it pop up on his screen right away, or send him an MP3 in a little dialog box...

i mean something simpler than windows file sharing or AIM, something quick, no nonsense...

TIA

Tim

Back in the day I used a program called Wingate.
It allowed me and my at-the-time roomate to share a dialup connection over our lan. It had a messenger program with it as well.
As I recall, though, we stopped using it due to soem security problems.

i've been looking at it, seems a little bloated for what i would need i guess, but looks cool

Well, I used something after wingate, but this was several years ago, and I really don't remember what it was. sorry *shrug*

I'd just map a shortcut on your desktop to a folder that resided on his destop. Drag and drop.

Done.

[edit] I know it won't display right away, but come on...it's two clicks to get to it.
