Looking for a good ip cam program

Just tried Blue Iris and it sucks major ass. Not only does it suffer from the worst case of Chinese logic I've ever seen but I could not get my camera to work with it. why so many people are singing it's praises is beyond me.

Any programs out there I should look at?

Blue Iris is popular....what cameras are you trying to use with it? what programs do the camera manufacturers recommend?

It's a Grandstream and I get half a green screen and jumbled video with Blue iris. It came with GSurf Pro which is fine for viewing but I haven't been able to use the other features due to, you guessed it, Chinese logic. For example, Trying to set motion detect to record a short 30 second video, which it's supposed to be able to do, has proven to be damn near impossible because I can't tell what the option actually do. The camera works perfectly with IP Camera Viewer but this free program has nearly zero features. I've tried a couple of others that didn't suit my needs also. Blue Iris is the only one that gives me the half green screen and jumbled video.

Synology Surveillance Station is the best I've found so far but you can't specify an external or network drive to save the videos to.

I am not sure what 'Chinese Logic' is with the applications you have mentioned, but many have had success with them. I am sure there are Blue Iris and the like forums that can probably walk you through it.

As I mentioned, the problem with Blue Iris is defective video. As for Chinese logic, DL and take a look at GSurf Pro and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. It's free.

Thanks for your input.
