I play TF2 with my stepson and my daughters bf...we have lots of fun. It's a goofy game and very fast paced.

Just make sure you have the latest version of Java installed on your system.

Totally free, incredibly enjoyable. This is a turn based WWII game, does not require the latest graphics cards, and you and him could talk using VOIP (Xfire, teamspeak) while playing.

what this guy said.

As a board game, me and my buddies had an awesome time playing it.

If i remember correctly, this version of the game can even be played via emails...but i could be totally wrong about that.

A place we could meet, log onto a game and play for a while ...

Thanks for your suggestions.

ASObrain if you like settlers or carcassone clones. It also has bots to fill in slots.

COD4, Quake Live, Left 4 Dead, Unreal Tournament III

Since you're on limited gfx capabilities, I'd say quake live.

As a former resident of Oahu just remember with their great weather\beaches comes poor ping times. I would be happy if I could get it ~200ms but that wasnt very common, at least when I that was my experience.

I only point that out because if your the competitive type when it comes to games (twitch FPS) you may loose some of the joy due to lag frustrations.

I wish I was back there though...
