looking for a good fps game

As title says i'm on the lookout for a good fps game as all iv'e been playing is bc2 and i need some variety.

My requirements if not to strict are as follows...

#1 Low ping on most multiplayer servers<find 7 out of 10 bc2 servers i ping well over 200ms
#2 Good teamwork based multiplayer or good singleplayer
#3 Admins who can kick morons and hacks cause they just roam all over in BC2
#4 Wide spread unlocks and rewards i find in bc2 after like rank 25 you have all your unlocks and it ends up being the same fruitless pin and star unlocks.

For the record i have enjoyed and loved BC2 but as iv'e of lately i just find myself chasing gold and platinum weapon stars while just getting more frustrated with morons high ping and hack's who just get away with their bs.

Before anyone cries wolf and says i'm whining i'm not cause i'm closing in to rank 40 with 395 or so hours and its the same gameplay day in and day out.

Just want variety with a new title if anyone has any good suggestions please let me know

Not interested in crysis 2 or medal of honor bought both and hated them with a passion

Well Team Fortress 2 is the obvious choice to check out, especially as its free to play now.

The amount of fun had is dependent on a good server. So be sure to find a good one without tons of mods and has some decent people/admins.

Black Ops...

Pings shouldn't be a problem. The teamwork will of course depend upon who you get matched up with and what mode you're playing. It's a definitely a case of every man for himself a majority of the time but when you get matched up with the right group one team can simply dominate. The mostly kiddie admins will kick morons and hacks as well as non hacks that are better than them or don't play the way they want them to, they don't discriminate. LOL It also has plenty of chase the carrot unlocks.

Heh, was about to recommend Crysis 2 until I read that you hated it with a passion. I agree with the recommendation for Team Fortress 2, especially since it's free now on Steam. Black Ops is the other game you might want to check out though YBS1 is right in saying that it's every man for himself most of the time, but sometimes you get on a team that works really well together and sometimes you get destroyed by the other team that's working well together.

Hated Crysis 2 for its hit regis and mostly campers.

I'm above average in BC2 but i noticed alot of noobs would use that cloak mode in Crysis 2 and camp with it and it got pretty annoying very fast .

Also BC2 in my experience has been that every man for himself cause i usually end up on maps with no one working together,mind as well just be a lone wolf.

Iv'e thought about Black Ops alot actually for ages as i have never bought a COD game before just i hear so much about the hacks and campers in it,if those are the fanboys speaking who knows .

I know every fps is gonna have its infestation of campers but for you or anyone has Ops been a decent fps?

TF2 is gonna be the first game ill try since its free which is a nice thing i guess:thumbsup:

Left 4 dead & Left 4 Dead 2 - try to play with friends, this is not an easy game to play

My favorite MP is still Crysis Wars. I wish participation was higher now, but the relatively low level of hackers + the overall quality of the players that are there are worth the tradeoff.

Know a friend who hated the hell out of BC2 after i told her it was decent but she loves counter strike cause shes just old school.

Played TF2 last night it wasn't bad but i do prefer the shoot them ups with the war theme tons but gameplay was still good

It is....don't let Crysis 2 turn you off - as it's not even close to the same dynamic.

Camping is not a problem (even with cloaking) in Wars, because every shot they fire blips them on the radar. Hunting down campers is actually one of my favorite hobbies in Wars. The good players usually take them out pretty quickly.

There's close-quarters, fast-action, combat intensive maps all the way to massive vehicle-driven maps (VTOLs are fun to fly once you get the hang of it). It's the perfect MP for me. The Crysis FPS mechanics and player movement control (like playing a human sports car) and suit functions just make it all the more fun.

I wish there was more participation - seems like in the last year or so (especially since Crysis 2 came out) there are a LOT less people on the servers, which is a shame. I've tried other MPs but I always end up coming back here.

:thumbsup: As long as it has that original crysis look and feel thats what counts.

Crysis 2 for me was a flop it was just way to watered down a direct console port with that start menu stuff .

Gameplay was way to watered down even the voice animations and stuff just seemed like something some teens would play almost like halo in a way.

Just wasn't what the original crysis was in no way shape or form.

You thinking of a "FPS flight sim" is very accurate, I never saw anything fun in the arcade FPS games like BF2...but ARMA2 get my heart pumping.

It does look very exciting.

Is it prune with bugs and lag?

Been loving BC2 all 400 hours iv'e played but since i built this new rig and replaced my original disc cause i lost my old one in a move,iv'e been experiencing this one particular bug that has me believing i got a bad copy as iv'e uninstalled and reinstalled the game like 5 times and its still there.

Such a frustrating bug i might have to start a thread on it

If you want to try arma II out there's a f2p version of the game. I think it's limited to low res and you can't mod it, but it's a good chance to try out the game.

In BF2 you have to take into account bullet drop for sniper rifles but I think in arma II you have to take into account all kinds of things including air speed.
