Looking for a "fun" older car for between $20k-$30k

Contingent upon the upcoming months, I may be considering a "fun" car, not a daily-driver. I could probably get rid of my daily-driver and get a new one that constitutes both fun, and good for daily driving, but I haven't decided on that yet.

Suggestions welcome.

for 30k, you can get some funky rides!!

USED: (but only by 1-3 years)
BMW Z3 (got a friend selling one if you are interested)
BMW M3
BMW 330i
Lexus Is300 (pimpin')
Acura CL
Acura TL
...

the list goes on an on.

New:
Ford Taurus. 😀
Acura CL
BMW 323i
Honda Accord V6
Honda Prelude
...

the list goes on and on.

See... with such a high price range, you have sooooooo many options!!

I'm really open to anything. I really like the '92 Porsche Carrera Targa, but that's pushing it a little. I want something that you don't really see everyday, but something that still looks classy. With that in mind, I don't care if it's anywhere from 1970-2000.

Yah, I've considered all of the newer models, but I guess I'm looking for something more "classic", if that can even be had for this price. I saw a Porsche 911SC driving around earlier today, and thought damn... that's nice. I guess I want something that I can fix up (but not too much!) and cruise around on those stressful days off work 🙂

I live in Oklahoma actually 😀

I couldn't get into a fully spirited driving experience going downtown obviously, but there are many places I can go to at least have some fun. I'm not into racing, just an experience that sets it apart from my daily grind.

Sorry... can't help ya htere. I'm only 26... so all my "cool" ride ideas are from the 90's. I did have a friend that had some circa late 70s early 80's Porches. Those were pretty dang cool. How about an older Lotus (if they are that low.. I dunno)... Old corvette/Mustang? How bout a 1991 Acura NSX. you could probably swing one of those for close $30k. good luck.

Now see, that Ferrari would be VERY cool. Not pretentious, kinda quirky, most likely very fun to drive, don't see it every day, etc..

An older NSX would be equally exciting in my book.

[edit]Not very many Ferrari 308's out there apparantly 🙂[/edit]

Dodge Charger Daytona, or a Superbird or a roadrunner or something 🙂

Nothing turns heads like an old muscle car 🙂

Ahh, IMHO nothing beats old military (specially russian) off-road vehicles: GAZ 67, GAZ 69 (got one),GAZ 63, GAZ 66 (currently saving money to get it, really sweet machine), ZIL 157, ZIL 131, 6x6 URAL'z, KRAZ 255b and 260... mean machines 🙂 Real driving pleasure comes from car without synchronized gearbox and power steering 🙂

Just about any older muscle car (70 Hemi Cuda anyone?). You'll probably be able to find an older Viper RT/10 for closer to 30k, it doesn't get much more fun than that 🙂 You'll be able to find a 95-96 Supra TT for around 30k as well (6 speeds are fun 🙂) Let us know what you're leaning towards!

96 Mystic Cobra w/ a Vortech blower and other engine work... pop that baby up to 500HP or so. Just be careful in 3rd gear, you'll spin the tires.

How bout a 3000GT?

Or you might be able to find a nice Skyline for that price. There aren't that many Skylines on the roads. 🙂 They're really nice! 🙂

You could get a MINT 60's muscle car for that amount that will turn heads EVERY time you take it out.

If you want to go the "classy" route, check out the BMW 635 and 850 or Merceded 560 SEC.

You could also get a tricked out Hot Rod, but the catch would be that someone else built it to their specs...

If you want a sports/classy car, get an old Porsche.

Late 70's Eldorado or Continental.
Pimp it out with some whitewalls and hook up some hydros.
and then get a fat system
the original "LO-RIDA"
