Hey, I was looking for a cpu monitoring program since I started oc'ing my cpu. Was wondering what's considered the best prog for that. I was also wondering if there is a program that monitors memory temps as well. Thanks.

For temps i would recommend MBM5, for basic CPU MEM info CPU-z, for stress testing i would recommend stress prime-2004 and S&M. Unfortunately i don?t think there is a program that reports memory temps, mainly due to none of the memory modules having thermal diodes (atleast not that i am aware of)

I would also take a look at the sticked thread above named ?Essential Overclocking utilities?. This should supply your need.

Hey RichUK, can you tell me about your bios mod? I really don't know a thing about bios stuff... I have the same Mobo as you, can you tell how/where to get it and do it?
Thanks.

This page HERE has a list of all the BIOS's available that you can download, for use with the MSI K8N neo 2 plat. They range from the Official to mod'ed to beta BIOS's.

Also if you look at the top there are two links to BIOS flash utilities which actually flash the BIOS within windows instead of using a bootable floppy. I use WinFlash 1.76 as linked on that page. HERE is a guide on how to use Winflash. Although all i do is open Winflash, select the downloaded BIOS i want to update and then click update. When it restarts, i load optimized defaults, save then exit, then reapply my specific BIOS settings etc.

For your particular chip i would probably recommend BIOS 1.B, its a stable BIOS and supports your chip just fine, however there is no point in updating the BIOS it if already works just fine.

I use the 1.8 mod BIOS with this chip because I find it works a bit better than the 1.B I used to use on my Opty 165 (even though I still cant OC my ram for jack). I?ll be getting a new board soon any way which work far better with the rest if my hardware than this current board.

For monitoring, I like Everest Home Edition. It gives you all the temps your motherboard reads, and even your GPU and hard drive temps (I think you need to enable S.M.A.R.T. for HDD temps). Plus it has a bunch of other features (benchmarking, system info etc).
