If you're talking Multiplayer, CSS is the way to go on the PC. For single player, I thoroughly enjoyed Far Cry, Doom 3, F.E.A.R. and most recently Prey (which also has some good multiplayer on the Xbox 360, don't know about PC)

with cx and cs:s it's imperative to find a server that actually has active admins or a community behind it. I find it a much more pleasureable experience because i know that hackers are usually busted out pretty quick. The community i admin'd for just recently started to die off but at it's height had 4 servers all full 24 hoursa day with admins patrolling practically each hour.

If I may be so bold as to suggest just such a CS:S community, please visit http://www.hellsgamers.com

I'm one of the main admins for the 24/7 Office server, and we have several others active with high frequency on that sever alone, and its the same for the others. There are also forums to report hackers when admins aren't on the servers.

The only drawback to our community of gamers in my opinion is the lack of a plain vanilla rotation server. There are 24/7 Dust2, 24/7 Office, 24/7 Deathmatch and some other servers (see the site), but personally I would like to see a regular old server setup to do map rotation through all the stock CS:S maps.

F.E.A.R is the FPS I call home. =)

Tell me about FEAR. :)

I know its demo installs Sony's SecuROM 7 rootkit on your machine like NeverWinter Nights 2. I wonder what the retail version does for you?
