looking for a early UFC clip

This was like UFC in the early days when it was still sort of underground snuff VHS tapes.

There was this guy who was from US being billed as a "Black belt BJJ, Karate Specialist, New Wave Mixed Martial Arts" and all this other crap, and he was like this 6'7'' nerdy white guy.

Anyway, after all this backstory about how amazing he is, he literally just RUNS straight to the guy flailing his arms and legs wildly and manages to clean up the entire competition.

I have been looking for this forever.

At exactly 1:29 look over Hackneys left shoulder at the bald dude in the beige shirt. That would be me. I can't believe I got such great seats for this fight. Fucking Manny Yarbrough blocked out the damn lights when he was in front of me! This was also the UFC, I believe, where Joe Son was getting his nuts turned to nut butter by Hackney. It took place right in front of me. Painful to say the least.

Peace

Haha, those old UFC were so awesome, it was like a Jean Claude movie. Until Gracie came in and ruined the entire sport.
Just good old fashioned street fights.

wait..what? without Gracie's there would be NO UFC. they were the reason it started in the first place.

Don't know where any clips are, but in college me and friends would rent the VHS tapes. I remember we were watching 4 through 7 at the time. It was jaw dropping to see when boxing was then the major ring "sport", and was turning into a joke.

What I remember the most was of course the Gracie brothers and Ken Shamrock. Great times whenever we could rent a copy in college with the guys and gals and enjoy some brews and other things.

As amazing as it was, I had no idea it would turn into the sport it is today with such a huge following. Looking back it seems obvious of course as once you watch it, boxing just seems.... meh. Not to mention the fix is in on most boxing matches.

I think you are looking for Harold Howard.

About 6'2 and fought exactly like you said, except he lost in the finals to Steve Jennum.

Is this him? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vaw8t-wOMEA

If its not, it is a cool mini mashup.

Having been in a fight with a guy as big as the one Keith is fighting, I commend him for not being overwhelmed by the weight of the fella.

I'd also like to point out that while Harold Howard was never able to successfully pull off the forward flip kick, there is a fighter who has two tko victories due to them.

mizzou - did you even read my link? I think this is the fight you're looking for - dude is 6'7", has a strange fighting background/system, and beat the other guy rather well.

Didn't Jon Hess fight in his pajamas? Had the wifebeater on and sweatpants like he was just chillin in front of the TV and decided to come on down and fight. Oh, he also invented SAFTA, didn't he?

Peace
