Looking for a Digital Camera under $300

I've recommended the Canon SD400 to a couple of people. It was on sale @ Dell.com, few ppl got it for about $230 shipped but seems thats dead. Right now the SD450 is $296.65 and can drop that down to $271.65 w/$25 off coupon.

There is also a deal on the SD550 for $359.20 add a $45 off coupon and its down to $314.20, although its slightly above the $300 budget.
 
How about a little more info? What would your brother consider to be important features?
size?
resolution?
low-light performance?
zoom range?

For general use, the Canon SD450 mentioned should be decent. As will most of the current offerings from Nikon, Olympus, and Casio.

As for Mac OS compatibility, iPhoto will detect the vast majority of current cameras. If it doesn't, a USB card reader will fix that.
 
Theres a deal going right now at dell sb for the sd400 + 512mb sd for $248 after coupons. Just look at fatwallet.com or something.
