I have one like that from Staples, this one looks like it was put together incorrectly, the one I have doesn't have the printer stand though.

To fix the power supply problem, can you put the outlets underneath the table?

Also, I'd get rid of the double keyboard idea as well as the middle leg/partition. Why force yourself to sit on on half of the desk? Makes for reaching/accessing the other side much more difficult. If you sat in the middle, then you have a large space that you can utilize/access every part of.

I want them on top as it makes it easy to plug stuff in and out without having to go under it. I'm actually surprised more desks don't have a feature like this. I'll probably put some under too though.

I have also considered sitting in the middle, though the point is to have one section completely free (no monitors etc) so that if I want to work on something else I just sit there. I never have a proper work area when I went to build a PC or something, so now I will. I have a small desk for a work bench but I can't lay out all the parts on it, it's big enough for just the case.

So yeah this will be pretty epic once done. Simple, but very functional. Since it's deep I'll probably add some organizers at the bottom on the shelf. No cables will touch the floor either, making vacuuming a brease.

ugh i don't know if i'd use MDF for a desktop. i made speaker boxes with mdf - i sealed it with multiple coats of KILZ, sanded a few times, did a spray coat of color, then a clear coat. i don't know how that would handle having palms/arms/hands on it all the time.

Using particle board isn't a problem - Don't bother finishing it, though: Far better and easier to glue on whatever laminate surface you like.

So I finally received the one I linked to from eBay.

Total POS. The desktop pieces were pieces of MDF with what looked like black wallpaper glued on all sides.

Most of the wooden pieces were damaged and looked cheap anyway. Looks like I'll be keeping my glass desk... It's really hard to find good desks that don't cost a fortune, these days.
