looking for a decent set of speakers!

I have never bought computer speakers before because my system is ran through my stereo system. I'm now Chrismas shopping and I'm looking for a good set that puts out decent sound for around 50 bucks for my father I checked newegg and I found that im stearing close to the logitech Z-340 or harmon HK 19.5 any advise will be greatly appreciated. oh yea I'll be also purchasing a sound card most likely creative labs and be installing win XP on his system is there still problems with those two? here's a link to newegg's site NEWEGG
