Looking for a decent 3D TV for my room.

Size can be around 32"-42" maybe bigger.... Passive is fine. Then again so is Active Shutter I'm sure I could get Shutter glasses cheap. I know Monoprice has some Samsung & LG ones for $33. http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=109&cp_id=10909

Unsure on an exact budget as I could always save if needed.

I wouldn't mind an LED for energy saving and slightly better blacks but could live with CCFL and maybe Plasma (not a fan of the slight image retention though. Course no display tech is perfect).

Main use would be 3D gaming with the PS3 & maybe PC. As well as watch a 3D flick once in awhile

Really plan to take advantage of full screen split screen gaming: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVJcVPvjUJo

I was pondering this bundle for $678 (TV is $648): http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vizio-E3DB420VX/19234525

4 pairs of passive glasses, 3D Blu-Ray player (which I could use an extra player but not needed) & an hdmi cable but eh got plenty of those.

Also eyeing the 32" version on sale for $448 & I know passive glasses can be found dirt cheap too.

I also know passive will lose some resolution but I think I can live with that.

2D-3D convertors worth it for 2D games or 2D content at all? These sets don't include one so would paying $100 for one be worth it? http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10114&cs_id=1011408&p_id=8048&seq=1&format=2

I don't watch as much TV in my room as the living room too. However my room is big enough for guest 3D watching & full screen split screen gaming.

Should I wait & see what comes out in 2012? Is there any better deals out now or coming soon? I can wait too. In no big hurry.

Or is the 32" 3D set a steal for $448? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vizio-32-E3D320VX/15992329

Will continue to price check around & use www.decide.com to help.

Thanks.

Every 3d tv display I've seen looks like HELL. However, I had not heard of full screen split screen and damn that is just snazzy as all get out, I can see why you would want it.

Yeah. I think the Full Screen Split Screen gaming also works on all or most Active Shutter systems too? I remember watching a YouTube vid someone made showing it was possible on Active Shutter systems too. Maybe it was a specific model?

As for the current models I might wait for the LED models to go on sale. Maybe.... Still debating....

I'm also thinking of getting like 3D TV as a monitor as it would be cheaper for a bigger size. My current 27" LED LCD Monitor is 1920X1080 so an HDTV would be the same right? I heard Nvidias 2D-3D for games is pretty cool. Wouldn't mind playing Left 4 Dead 2 in 3D. I have enough desk room to put a 32" inch to the wall. I would have to measure a 42". However I don't think I want to go back to a CCFL back light.

I might just run a 25ft HDMI cable & Male to Female USB cable to my room and just stick with a 3D bedroom TV for now though.

Amazon have 42-inch LG 3D Home Cinemas for just £590! Not familiar with what constitutes decent specs on 3D TVs but free delivery, Freeview & 4.5 out of 5 from 37 customer reviews. Worth buying?

Here's the link for those interested:
