I bought a Magellan 2200T GPS for our vehicle. It works fine except that the maps have substandard resolution ... especially when you zoom out.

My Palm Treo 650 with its 320x320 pixel resolution on a 2.5-inch diagonal screen is far superior to the display on the GPS. Google Maps on the Treo 650 is a delight to use.

Are there any GPS units with higher pixel density screens ?

Thanks !

I think the pixel density of my Garmin c530 is pretty nice... maps are very crisp at all zoom levels.

I just bumped up to the TomTom ONE XL from the ONE and the XL has 480 x 272 on its widescreen. I think the picture is great and I know people are hacking so they can even play movies on it.

Garmin's and Tomtom's generally have the best screen, getting one of the widescreen garmin's is probably what you are looking for ... like the Garmin Nuvi 660

Oh, also be sure to check out the new TomTom 720 thats coming out right now, its 4,3? high resolution touch screen looks amazing. Its not out in the US yet but should be by the end of July I believe. Its also got there new Map Share technology too which is suppose to be really innovative too.
