Looking for a couch computer

Everybody in the family has more than one computer, son has an old small laptop for school, wife has a nicer old work only laptop and a new Nook Tablet. The idea floating around the house is to get a couch laptop. Doesn't need a lot of power, but should be able to playback movies from DVD or our media server, surf, some typing, couch stuff when we don't feel like sitting at the desk to use the computer. Keyboard absolutely needs to be touch type friendly.

Wife likes the old Dell touch post thing, so thinking maybe 2 year old Dell.

Suggestions?

Tablets are filling this role nowadays it seems. Instead of DvD its about video streaming instead via wifi.

Windows tablet, ugh. Later on I plan on adding an android phone, but different use.

A big use is going to be typing and we have a Nook Tablet.

I'm thinking sofa friendly, handy to use and hold, for all the stuff we are too lazy to walk over to the PC to do, or when we are just tired of sitting in a desk chair and want to use a recliner.

you can get a dell latitude xt with a 64gb ssd from their outlet for $450 last time i checked, it has windows 7 on it.
