Some lil brat I know is having a Birthday party, well already had it. But I wanted to get him a gift tonight. He wants one of those coin banks you drop the coin in and it sorts them. Target & Walmart don't carry them in store. I can't think of another place to look, if I order on-line he'll be back at his Grandmas (not local) and I won't see him for weeks. Sucks for me for being lazy and waiting, but I'm hoping somewhere has them for sale where I can run and pick him up one before he's gone.

The things from Walmart just aren't worth it. They jam up.....well, pretty much if you put coins in them, they jam.

Did you check the right department? They should be in the stationery department. Last time I saw, they had the coin banks, as well as various wrappers right there in the same section.

I didn't go, I looked on their web site figuring that would be an item they'd list online. But you make them sound worthless so maybe I'll skip even driving to one to check. I remember when I was a teen I had one and it worked pretty well. Maybe the newer ones aren't made the same though.

tasmanian this is for a 10 year old. I doubt his mom will want to take him to the bank every time he has a few pennies saved lol.

I had one when I was young. If I put more than few coins in it at a time, it would jam up.

This was the one I had: http://www.amazon.com/Magnif-4...&qid=1240784774&sr=8-6

If all you want is a coin bank, then the cheap stuff is fine, but the best sorters I've found is this one here that ironically works by hand, and if you want to spend a lot more they have an office quality automatic one too.

I got my nephew one at Kohl's around Christmas. IIRC, Penny's and Sears also had them.

I have one from walmart, I call it the China Scam-o-matic. It's made in China, jams a lot, and randomly puts pennies between other coin types. I have to count the money after since it's often off.
