Just an update, if anyone's still interested using the BR10i controller, it's back on sale at glcomp:
https://www.glcomp.com/Products/44E8689-IBM-System-X-ServeRAID-BR10i-SAS-SATA-Controller.aspx

More expensive this time though :(
Will this work with WHS? Do I have to flash the BIOS to IT mode? The IBM user's guide says that Server 2003 32-bit/64-bit is supported. It doesn't say anything about Windows 7 or Server 2008 though, so I wonder if it would also be supported in WHS2011 or not.

Edit: Here might be another source for that controller, same price:

Not sure about WHS, but it works well in Windows 7. I flashed the firmware to LSI's IR firmware in Windows 7 following ChrisBenn's instructions. I've been running a raid 1 setup (as boot volume for Windows and Linux) for about a month and it's been pretty smooth. Just a note, this card only supports raid 0, 1, 1E, and maybe 10, no raid 5 or 6.

Looks like they are now offering the cards with a full-height PCI bracket as well. The link seems to have changed too:

I'm in for one, especially since now I don't have to hunt for a bracket
