I want to use some Logitech Z5300's with my tv/dvd player for dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. My dvd player only spits out optical and coax digital signals though so I need a box that will take in the optical digital and output the 5.1 channels a.k.a. a preamp.
What I need is something like the creative ddts-100 but that thing is over 100$ and I was really hoping to spend around 50$.
I really don't need the power of the 5500's (which have a decoder as part of the system) and it's a big step up (150$ shipped to 300$ shipped).
