Looking for a cheap cable modem to hook up to my line, to use for XBOX and PS2 internet.

I need a cheap cable modem.

All it has to do is hook up to my cable connection line upstairs, and then hook up to my Linksys router.

It won't hook up to my computer.

Anybody have any reccomendations?

stay away from RCA is all I have to say...had ATT cable internet installed this week and the installer went through *two* bad RCA modems before finally getting a third one to work.

Where is a good place to buy cable modems?

Preferably offline.

I have an RCA downstairs, because that is what came with Comcast Internet.

But, now I need a cable modem upstairs also.

Reccomendations?

The Motorola Surfboard 4200 is a good modem to get. Circuit City has them for $99

What do you need a second cable modem for?

Get a 4 port switch and some cat5 cable and run it to your existing cable modem.


You don't even need a second cable modem to do the job. That is ridiculous.
