i don't think i need over 300w for 2hd 2cdr/dvdr and p4 2.8ghz right?

I think thats what I will get.. I would pref the black I think, but I don't care that much. Just want it to sit there and let me never think about it being bad or a problem. I'll buy it on monday so you have until then to tell me something different. With shipping $54.. sweet!

You are marginal with a 300watt PS, remember add to the wattage a video card plus your Ram or if you plan to overclock. Staples has the SLK3700 for I think $78 which has a 350watt PS. You can find coupons to get this for much less.

Check out this chart for a general idea of your wattage requirements.

This site calculates you stock CPU wattage and gives you an overclock value as well (stock P4 2.8 = 85 watts) http://www.benchtest.com/calc.html

No overclocking planned, but it seems I get to 250 w/ 1 hd, 1 cd/dvdr, mem, mobo, etc.

adding another hd or dvd drive looks okay for now, just have to try it and see.. don't wanna stress out the system. but 350 would have been better for all those items.
