Looking for a case recommendation!

I'm currently using a cooler master centurion 5, and I'm looking to get a real nice high end case that will last me up until computers as we know it become obsolete...

I want to have good cooling, decent looks, preferably aluminum and as light weight as possible. I'm not too keen on having a huge e-atx case, a oversized mid size tower or a light-weight full tower would be ideal - I move my computer for lans pretty often.

So far I like the look of the cooler master haf 932, and its performance for cooling that I read on bittech. The classy look of the lian-li and silverstone cases is certainly nice, but I think their new cases (1101 and fortress) are probably far too big for me. I don't do water cooling currently though I may in the future (especially the way the i7's are looking atm).

I heard from a friend that windy cases are the best, but also very expensive. I looked at a picture of one and it didn't look like a $400 dollar case to me, maybe someone could shed some light on that as well.

Eh...pretty sure no case will last that long. Before you know it, we'll have a different form factor or something. I wouldn't invest $300 into a computer enclosure no matter how good it is...

The Ultra m998 review would be a good choice if it is still available. Looks like Amazon and Tiger Direct have it for the best price right now (free slow-boat shipping from Amazon). May be a bit heavier than some similar-sized cases, but the extra strength of the stainless steel mobo drawer justifies the weight. Can be disassembled right down to the frame for wire management, modding, whatever. The same basic chassis is in the http://www.Akasa.com.tw cases, etc., but none of the others are available in the US on a regular basis.

I have been aweing over that thing for the longest time.

Another vote for this one, though I'm used to referring to it as ATSC 840. IMO, the only thing it misses is the side-window panel

The Cosmos is NOT the ATCS-840 (RC-840-KKn1-GP) - totally different. The Cosmos is the RC-1000 while the Cosmos S is the RC-1100. The ATCS harks back to their early aluminum models both in appearance (all aluminum, mobo drawer) but very updated. You may still find some of the early ones around at Directron, Sundial Micro, et al.: here's one Some online resellers are already listing the 840 for pre-ordering...

silverston TJ-09

Maybe also a mountain mods pinicle series as well...

I'm not sure what made me write what I wrote 4 posts above (I'm not a habitual drug user). Don't like Cosmos, do like ATSC840, especially the 230mm fans and the classic look.
