Looking for a bag non-dell branded like this one

No Lifer
H9859 bag

I have a 14.1" Thinkpad and loved this bag with my Dell. I may just end up buying another one, but I'd like to have it non-Dell branded.

Anyone know of something similar. I either find sleeves or oversized bags for my need. I just want to be able to carry the laptop, charger, maybe a pad/pen and my mouse. I don't need compartments for a million things.

amazon has thousands of messenger bags...really shouldnt be hard to find something, itll just take time to look around

Pay a visit to your nearest Best Buy. They have many bags that would fit your needs/ Targus has several as does Wenger (Swiss Army Knife people.)

+1 for targus. I've seen some of those targus bags go to hell and back and come out just fine.

Yep. The biggest thing to look for with any laptop bag is a padded laptop chamber / compartment, and metal zippers, clasps, and other hardware. Other than the bag ripping (which shouldn't happen to anything of decent quality), the biggest problem is usually a plastic piece breaking or the bag just not keeping the laptop protected in general.

With that said, Targus tends to impress me. Another company, be.ez, which markets their stuff toward Macbook Pro owners, really makes great stuff too.

timbuk2 makes some great bags, thats what i have (albeit not a messenger style)

some of the bags are made to fit a regular 13.3" macbook...the t60 will fit in there, but only if it has a regular battery, not an extended.

ive beat the hell out of the bag i have for years and its still in very good shape, and has a nice padded laptop compartment. some of the bags may be bigger than what you want though...and retail prices on them arent cheap, check ebay

I used to use some Knomo bags. These are some nice looking, decently made bags at the "cheap-premium" end.

Whatever you pick, I'm sure you can do better than the Dell bags quite easily. I've ordered some Dell fuglybags when not paying attention while ticking the boxes in a notebook order, but carrying one would be... ugh, out of the question.

Ended up getting two new old stock bags...both are on Targus's site too.

One was the Original IBM Thinkpad Leather Bag TS12220, it's a bit too big...it was free though so I tried it. http://www.amazon.com/TP12220-ThinkP.../dp/B00006B7AK

My brother has been a Thinkpad user since the beginning (now running Macbooks though). He gave me his like brand new IBM Organizer: http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.aspx?sku=73P3598

This bag is a full-sized bag but no longer than it has to be for my T60...it fits it perfect. I have room for my iPad in an STM jacket with chargers and a MiFi.

If I could change anything I'd make the front pocket slight less deep...maybe just an inch or two. However I think for most the length of bag is the worst dimension to have too much of and in this case it's perfect.

There are 10 on ebay for $32 shipped. I was thinking of buying a second for a spare.
