Hello All,

I need to replace my AcBel 625w PSU, with something more powerful to accomidate new GPU (Sapphire HD 6770). I'm getting a computer freeze (lockup) after about 40min. of gaming. Everything else (diagnostics, drivers & temps) checks out so I think I'm just underpowered. The PSU calc I ran showed a need of 560w (12v requirement unspecified).

Problem being I'm on a Lenovo S20 MoBo w/intel xeon W3520.

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-72076

This requires a 10-pin 12v EPS (item #1 on chart) and the 4-pin 12v aux. (Item #29, common).

I've scavenging around Newegg, and various manufacturer's sites and only coming with combinations of 8 & 4. Incidentally, the common 8-pin configuration does fit in the 10-pin (just test fit - no power) but I don't want start playing games with how the current is applied to my CPU.

So, I'm looking for something in the 850w range, & more concerned with quality than price (my guess is about $200ish).

Other specs:
Case: Lenovo thinkstation s20
O.S.: Win 7 Home premium 64bit

Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time & effort, NHC (new guy)

Helo again, a little add-on question

Turns out that ten pin connection is a Lenovo thing (probably propreitary), Monday the service department at IBM that can actually sell parts opens. Hopefully I can buy the PSU from the next class up of thinkstaion; the C20 w/its 800w PSU. We'll see.

In the mean time I've put the Stock 625w psu back and the HD5770 that I've been running for the past two years. I've developed a rolling screen tare on my second monitor that primarily occurs when I scoll over open widow borders. Plus some other small graphical errors.

Can this be a sign or symptom of a failing SPU or a GPU failing symptomatically because of a failing PSU?

System diagnostics show nothing, drivers & temps still good.

Thanks - NHC
