When will we see these in stores both online and retail? Newegg does not have the drive in yet, and the only place I see to buy it is on teir webpage for $200 (Like anyone is going to fall for that one).
I dont see it listed anywhere on pricewatch, so it may take a couple weeks to start seeing it hit the market. The price Western digital's site lists it for is $190, compared with $275 for the 100gb with 8mb cache. Following a similar pricing scale, the OEM version of the drive from Mwave or Newegg should be pretty cheap, maybe even around $100-125.
I wonder if I should wait on those for a RAID array...
That's my plan as well... pick up a 80GB one when they first come out, and get a second when they come down in price, and I restock my disposable income stash. I was about to order a plain 60 or 80GB drive until I heard about these.
I really don't need a 100GB or 120GB drive, so picking on of these up in the slighty above $100 range would be ideal. All I have now is an old 20GB drive :-(. My problem with it is not so much space, but speed.
