Looking for 2.1 speakers for an intel Imac

Something that isn't obnoxious but makes good use of the iMac's sound? (Intel based, 2.16 C2D) and I can connect to the iMac without buying even more gizmos?


Example Z-4i from Logitech. They claim they are Mac friendly but it appears they use the s standard 2 plug connector whereas the mac has that single connector.
Anyone familar with these? What about the Z-2300 series?

I have some Logitech Z3s (I think) 2.1 setup and they work great since they just have the 1 connector. I can use them for everything... laptop, desktop, ipod, everything... The sound quality is decent, and they should even match the imac pretty well once you take the cloth grills off of them.

s standard 2 plug connector? What do you mean by this exactly? Does it have a separate connector for the speakers and the sub?

judging by this picture, it looks like it has connectors for each speaker to the sub.. and then the sub to your source via a standard 3.5mm audio jack (the green connector on the bottom of the three).

The left and right connections go from the sub to each speaker independently.

Then the last connector there on the bottom goes from the sub to the computer, standard 3.5mm plug. The sub will handle the signal from there.

But the klipsch are nice too.. but a little too expensive for me since I mostly use headphones anyway

the klipsch are awesome speakers. nice sound and very loud. i'm actually using mine on my tv right now, and they do great even in a big room.

the standard for these types of speakers is one line btw, not 2. unless they are 5.1s a 2.1 set only uses one plug.
