Looking for 14" Business Laptop for Gaming

I am looking for a 14" laptop that looks like a business laptop, but will be able to play video games. I really like Thinkpads, but the dedicated graphics cards are not all that powerful.

I currently have an Asus G50V, with a 9700M GT graphics card. I would like to find something with similar specs but with an i5 or i7.

The HP Envy 14 has the correct specs, but looks too campy. I need to be able to pull my laptop out in a meeting and people think that I am working on some report but instead I will be playing Minecraft.

Budget is 2k.

Can you go 15"?

Check out online places like XoticPC and PCTorque. They sell ASUS gaming laptops. You should be able to find what you want there. XoticPC also sells Sager models as well. Just be aware that anything SB has been delayed just like with home PCs till March/April.

Dell just started shipping their sandy bridge Laptop's so saying they are delayed is not true.

macbooks have 10000x time superior touchpad. once you use a modern 2008+ macbook touch pad you will wonder wtf the pc makers are doing. i would dare say the macbook touchpad is not even in the same league. they have their place in society - gaming is just not one of them lol.

those new macbook's seem to have a bit more mojo in the graphics department (15/17") honestly there is the air (great) and the 17" (great screen) and i dont see the reason for much in between. i found the 17" to be cheap ($1100 core2duo 2.66 with 1.5years of applecare left used) and the lightest 1920x1200 17" i could find that has a good warranty (carry-in 7 day a week).

Warranty imo counts over everything and in business i'd aim for 3/3/3 next business day on-site with an uplift carepack for ADR/DMR/Computrace since i assume you might have personal information and the computrace will remote wipe/kill.

I've had several screens replaced due to non uniform CCFL lighting/bleed. even to the point where i made them replace it twice to get what i desired. that imo is golden. because if you are going to find a deal (don't forget hp/lenovo outlet) you might as well enjoy the bmw experience when it comes to support.

having someone come out and change the screen is far less downtime than having to mail your laptop in. plus they won't douche you on the hard drive contents with DMR (disk mag retention) - essentially you sign a waiver that you destroyed the SSD 🙂 and they send you a new one. and of course you will destroy that old ssd right?

You can also try for the Timeline X series from Acer. Very nice looking laptops, IMO and there is a 14" version that comes with an i5-480 + ATI 6550 for around 800 bucks. If I were looking to grab a moderate gaming laptop today, that's what I'd get.
