I'm on my 3rd T&C. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Guaranteed transmission troubles starting around 40k, lackluster performance from an engine that can't haul it's own weight let alone the weight of the van and the interior quality of a cheap motel room.

I'm driving a rental 08' Grand Caravan right now, it's a massive POS, and the 19.3 mpg doesn't help.

Honestly, I wouldn't own a minivan on a bet, I'd find a sedan that met my needs.

my mom's 02 or 03 T&C has been great and she has over 100k on it, IIRC. while i don't like it's automatic setup (it goes for the highest possible gear at the lowest possible speed, usually) it seems to have plenty of torque and pretty solid brakes... for a van of course :p

I drove a premium 07 T&C fully loaded 45,000 miles and I think it's a wonderful vehicle to be driven so darn hard every year. Yay for T&C's o_O

At how shitty it is.
We got rid of a Dodge Grand Caravan for a 06 Toyota Sienna. It sounds like ours are similar.
We have the power sliding passenger side, door the MP3 6 disk changer, but the one we got has the 8 seat option. It's worlds better than the Dodge.

Fark, after looking some more at Kia's customer complaints and their inability to honor their warranty, I am looking elsewhere.

Looking at an 05 Sienna with 20k miles tonight for $16.2k. I'll offer him $15k, that's all I can afford. I still need to pay taxes on it (8.3%)
Alternatively, there's an 06 Grand Caravan with 9,400 miles on it for $13.8k a couple hundred miles away.
I'd offer $12.5k

I'm in this same boat. Wife really wants a T&C.. my only issue is it has to be reliable and cheap cheap cheap. Looking in the $7-8k range. Her 2000 blazer is sucking us dry in gas money.. not to mention small oil leak issues that are starting to crop up. :(

Ha! A 97 Blazer is what I am getting rid of. It's got a 159k miles on it now. It's starting to age pretty heftily, so it's time for it to go.
Second transmission, fourth fuel pump, AC is out....

I got the Dodge guy talked down to 12.5, and I have the Toyota guy talked down to 15.5. Damn, what to do what to do.

Both of these guys are Russians. W T F ?

Hurrr.....I had a third guy respond to an email I sent him via Craigslist.

A Russian.

Out of five people I have contacted, three were Russians.

I bought the Sienna last night. I wasn't able to get further down, so it was $15.5k.
Still, worth it and a very nice ride.
So much quieter than the Kia, and silky smooth.
