Looking at PDA's...Which OS to get??

Shockwave

Like it says. I was thinking of Palm, but my friend says the Win OS ones are better and said get a Clio or Audiovox. Thoughts? Opinions?

I'm an MS whore and own an Audiovox w/ PPC2002 on it. Pocket excel, word, outlook, & streets & trips is excellent.

If you are a heavy office user, PPC is the way to go.

Well what do you want your PDA to do for you Shockwave? Throw us a bone will ya? 🙂

I'm going to Palm when they hit OS6 (I think that's when all the Be Inc. multimedia stuff will be built in and 320x480 should be standard). My Ipaq 1910 crashes at times and is not as responsive as Palm/Sony's offerings (even when overclocked to 300 mhz). Don't get me wrong, I like how the Ipaq can do so many different things, but it doesn't do one things incredibly well (ok, i like the calendar and plug ins for the today screen). Activesync is incredibly buggy, I can't transfer files larger than 5megs from my ppc to my computer without it messing up.

Well, schedules, to-do and address list. Pretty basic. I dont need cameras and email and wifi and whatnot, just basic stuff. Like, what do I have to do tomorrow and whats that guys phone number again etc etc.

In that case, all the 😎 bells & whistles that the Pocket PC platform has would be overkill, go w/ a Palm OS IMO 🙂

One last note Shockwave, what's your price-range?

Dont really have on eyet. Thinkin <200, although i REALLY want a color display. Reason i ask is my friend said she could get me one dirt cheap, she has friends who work at CompUSA and somehow get killer deals (Wait for inventory replacement then buy old stock butt cheap or some such) So, i cant say what the price range is really, as who knows, I might be able to get a $400 dollar job for 150, or only get 25 bucks off. So, kinda up in the air right now.

You should have stopped by at OD today and yesterday. Sony Clie SJ-22 was on sale for 2 days for a low 70 AR. Its not top-of-the-line PDA but i'm sure you'll like it.
