Looking at laptops

Hello Everybody,

My laptop CPU has just died, well i'm pretty sure it is, and I need a new laptop. At the moment I'm looking at this:

Asus K Series 15.6"

I'm really broke at the moment but am in need of a new laptop. So my price range is around $400 to $450. I know at that range I can only buy a crap laptop but thats all I can afford for now. I've been looking around for the past few days and am kind of set on this laptop. Before I buy it though I would like to see if there are any better options out there that I have overlooked and may want to consider before pulling the gun. I want this purchase to last me while i'm in college.

I do some light gaming nothing like high detail and I don't expect to get anything better then low or medium on a lot of game. For me 20 fps to 30 fps is ok, since I've survived on much worst before. I generally play Minecraft, Starcraft II, and some DOTA 2. I hope I can look at some future games as viable for this low of a budget. If anyone have or found benchmarks for this APU I would like a link to them. All in all, will this be a worthwhile purchase? Or should I just keep saving for another laptop in the future?

Thanks

i'd buy a used machine on fs/ft.

there was a guy selling a quad sandy bridge with a GT630M for $500 yestesrday.

otherwise yeah the A8 would probably be able to play those games. i just bought a $400 laptop myself (dont play games, so i bought an HP probook instead that is comprable in most other ways).

thats a trinity core, so totally should be able to play older games fine.

In that price range, that's probably the best you'll get. It's a great value and a pretty darn good laptop to boot.
